He was also a technician of the Institut Municipal de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona and of the Museu de Zoologia (1941-1966), where he became director in 1966 until 1967.

A passionate researcher, a teacher to all those who approached him and generous in his discoveries, Puig Muset ventured to create a pharmaceutical laboratory for the creation of innovative products at a time when in Spain it was common to open laboratories to copy already established formulas.

Jaume was born in Barcelona in 1905, son of surgeon Antoni Raventós i Avinyò from the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and nephew of the historian, architect and collaborator of Enric Prat de la Riba in the Institute for Catalan Studies (IEC), Josep Pijoan i Soteras. He did his studies of Medicine at the University of Barcelona, where was internal student of Physiology with Dr. August Pi and Sunyer. It obtained the degree in 1930 and was internal doctor, later internal teacher and assistant teacher of Human Physiology of the Department of Physiology. It defended his doctoral thesis in neurotransmitters in 1934.

Doctorate in pharmacy (1882), he practiced in Sallent and Terrassa. He made the Flora of Pla de Bages and collaborated with Joan Cadevall on the Flora of Catalonia. He was also a professor at the Industrial School of Terrassa and a prominent linguist.
