Eduard Fontserè i Riba (Barcelona, ​​March 1, 1870 – September 18, 1970) was a Catalan meteorologist, astronomer, and seismologist. He was the founder and director of the Meteorological Service of Catalonia (Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya) from 1921 to 1939. He can be considered the father of professional meteorology in Catalonia, as well as the driving force behind the scientific and academic professionalization of Catalan meteorology.
